In short: BEFO has no ads, no tracking and no cookies. We keep what is needed for your account, your Premium and your code, and nothing from your PC.

Who we are

BEFO is made and run by two private persons, known as Fortex and Belmin. One of us lives in Bosnia and Herzegovina and one in Croatia. Write to us at support@befo.cc or on our Discord, discord.gg/befo.

Visiting the website

• The site uses no cookies, no analytics and no advertising.
• Our hosting provider (Netlify) sees your IP address and browser type, as every web server does, to deliver the pages.
• To show the newest version and how many times BEFO was downloaded, the page asks GitHub. GitHub therefore sees your IP address. The installer itself is downloaded from GitHub.
• Your language choice is kept in your browser. If you arrive through somebody's code link, that code is kept in your browser for 30 days so it can be saved when you sign in.

Your account

You sign in with Discord. Discord gives us your Discord ID, your name, your picture and your e-mail address. We do not get your password, your messages, your servers or your friends, and we cannot post in your name.

Accounts are kept by Supabase, our database and sign-in provider. Supabase also keeps technical records of sign-ins (time and IP address) to protect accounts.

Premium and codes

• Whether you have Premium and until when.
• Which Premium codes you redeemed.
• Whose code you use, and your own code if you chose one.
• What your code earned, and what we paid out to you.

If you use somebody's code, the owner of that code sees your Discord name, since when you use it, whether your Premium is active and how much your payments earned them. They do not see your e-mail address.

If you ask us for a payout, we use the payment details you give us (for example a PayPal address) only to send you the money.

Reviews

If you write a review, everyone can see it on befo.cc together with your Discord name and picture, the stars you gave, the date, and a Premium label if you have Premium. Your e-mail address and Discord ID are not shown. You can edit or delete your review on your account page at any time; it is also deleted with your account. We hide reviews that contain links, insults or personal data.

Support chat

The support bubble on the website first answers from our help base, right in your browser; those questions are not sent anywhere. If you choose "Talk to the team", the name you enter (optional) and your messages are stored in our database (Supabase) and shown to our Support team on our Discord server, so they can answer you. A random key for your chat is kept in your browser. Chats are deleted 30 days after the last message. Please never send passwords or card details.

Payments

Premium payments are handled by Polar (Polar Software Inc.), who is the seller. We never see your card details. Polar tells us your e-mail address, the status of your order and subscription, and the amount paid, so that Premium switches on for your account and the owner of a code you use gets their share.

The BEFO app

The app works on your PC. It does not send us your files, the list of your programs or statistics about how you use it. Logs and the bug report stay on your PC unless you send them to us yourself. The app goes online only for this:

• Signing in and reading your Premium and your code (Supabase).
• Looking for a new BEFO version on befo.cc, about twice a day.
• Looking for a newer NVIDIA driver, about once a day and when you open Drivers. This asks NVIDIA with the model of your graphics card.
• The speed test (Cloudflare) and the DNS test (public DNS servers), only when you start them.

Why we use this and who helps us

We use your data only to run your account, your Premium and the code program, and to keep them safe. We do not sell it and we do not use it for advertising.

The services we rely on: Supabase (accounts and database), Discord (sign-in), Netlify (website), GitHub (installer and download numbers), Polar (payments), Cloudflare (speed test) and NVIDIA (driver version). Some of them process data outside your country, including in the United States.

How long we keep it

We keep your account until you ask us to delete it. Then your profile, your Premium and your choice of code are deleted. Records of payments that earned somebody a share, and of payouts, stay without your name. Polar keeps invoices for as long as the law requires.

Your choices

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it or to delete your account, at support@befo.cc or on Discord. You can also complain to the data protection authority of your country.

You need a Discord account to sign in, so Discord's age rules apply. If you are too young to agree to this yourself in your country, ask a parent.

Changes

If we change this page, we change the date at the top and tell you on Discord when it matters.
